Chilean director who began his career at the age of 23 when he directed "Sábado" (2003), a film made entirely in a single sequence shot. The film had its world premiere at the prestigious Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival. He directed "En la Cama" ( 2005), a Chilean-German co-production that had its world premiere at the Locarno International Film Festival. In Barcelona he directed "Lo Bueno de Llorar" ( 2007), a Spanish-Chilean co-production, world premiere at the Locarno International Film Festival.
Also in his film career we find "La Vida de los Peces", a film that won the Goya Award for Best Hispanic American Film. "La Memoria del Agua" ( 2015), premiered at the Venice International Film Festival. In the Dominican Republic he directed "En tu Piel" (2019) The film premiered at the prestigious Transylvania International Film Festival.
Finally "El Castigo" ( 2022), a Chilean-Argentinean co-production made entirely in a single sequence shot, the film is selected in the Official Competition of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. During 2023 and early 2024 it made its way to International Festivals including the Malaga Film Festival where it won the award for Best Director.
He is currently developing a series for Chile with PAROX production company.
