Kenya Márquez (1972). Director, producer, and screenwriter, a graduate of the CCC. She began her film career with the short film “Cruz” (1997), which was nominated for an Ariel Award, followed by “La mesa servida” (2000) and “Señas particulares” (2006). Her feature film debut was “Fecha de caducidad” (2011), which received recognition at festivals including Morelia, Miami, Moscow, Vancouver, Valladolid, Trieste, Huelva, and Marseille. As a result, it became the most internationally awarded Mexican film of 2011. “Asfixia” (2018), her second feature film, received seven Ariel Award nominations, in addition to a highly successful run at festivals. Director of the FICG for four editions (2002–2005), she has served on the jury of various national and international festivals and acted as an advisor for different cultural projects.
Regarding his experience in television series, in recent years he has directed major series for leading streaming platforms, including “El Juego de las llaves” (Seasons 1 and 2) and “Oscuro Deseo” (Seasons 1 and 2), which has been named the best Spanish-language series.
He also directed the Netflix comedy *Madre solo hay dos*, and on VIX he directed the award-winning series *Consuelo* as well as the recent premiere of *FAMA*, starring Eréndira Ibarra. He is currently working on personal projects.
