Yago and Carlo Muñoz are a talented directing, producing, and writing duo. After making their mark individually in different fields, they decided to combine their talents in 2019 following the international acclaim of their debut film, PAPER BOATS , which they directed, wrote, and produced together.
The film debuted at HBO's New York Latino Film Festival in 2019, where it won Best Film. It was an official selection at the NYC Indie and Foreign Film Festival, Los Angeles Indie Film Festival, Cambridge Film Festival (UK), New Vision International Film Festival (Netherlands), Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival and the Guanajuato International Film Festival. Paper Boats had its commercial release on Amazon Prime USA in 2021.
After their debut, they formed their production company Desierto Films They have produced several award-winning music videos and short films at national and international festivals, such as Selma Cervantes' "Factory Girl," which is part of the official selection of the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. During 2024, they recently developed a feature film and a Christmas special for the production company Draco Films; in addition to having filmed a documentary about the life of Paul Kagame, current president of Rwanda.
