Joe Rendon

Director and Writer. In 2014 he developed his first series as Headwriter, "Poder S.A." for HBOLatino and Filmadora Nacional. He has been Director and Headwriter of projects such as "Dogma" and "Mita y Mita", for Televisa/VIX. He participated as director of "Descontrol" for Lemon Studios, for Univision USA in 2018. That same year, he co-produced, translated and directed the play "Cinema 35" (Annie Baker's The Flick, Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2014), receiving ACPT nominations for Best Adaptation and Best New Actor. In 2017 he filmed his debut feature "Como Novio de Pueblo" for Warner Bros, produced by Traziende Films and Leonardo Zimbrón, reaching the top 10 national box office that year. He also co-directed the first season of the sketch comedy show: "Backdoor" for Comedy Central, YouTube and Amazon Prime. During the pandemic he developed several series for Viacom, including the development and concept for Amazon's "Flour" series. He also directed the play "The Love Effect, by Lucy Prebbles" for streaming theater. In 2022 he directed "Bunker," a black comedy mini-series for HBOMax that received nominations at the Rockie Awards and International Emmys for Best Comedy. In 2023 he co-wrote the black comedy "No Negotiable" for Tiger House and Netflix, being one of the international hits of the year. In 2025 he premieres "90 Minutes", series where he was creator, co-writer, showrunner and director for Peacock in USA and Universal+ in Mexico and LATAM. He is currently developing theater and film for various national and international production companies.
